SEN. FLEXER NAMED A 2026 LEGISLATIVE CHAMPION BY CT LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS
ALSO RECEIVES A PERFECT 100% SCORE FROM THE LEAGUE
State Senator Mae Flexer has been recognized by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) as a 2026 “Environmental Champion” for her pivotal role in advancing key environmental priorities that protect our land, air, water, wildlife, and climate. She also received a perfect 100% score from the CTLCV for her votes on environmental issues during the recently concluded 2026 legislative session.
Sen. Flexer received the CTLCV recognition for her support of legislation ranging from fighting aquatic invasive species in our waterways to supporting the expansion of solar programs that expand access to renewable energy, supporting recycling, reporting the use of pesticides, and improving Connecticut’s waste management systems.
Sen. Flexer has been named an Environmental Champion six times by CTLCV.
“Public concern about our environment may be at an all-time high right now,” Sen. Flexer said. “We are seeing the impact of disastrous environmental policy every day as we experience wilder and often wetter weather on a regular basis. In the face of devastating federal actions that are causing great damage to our environment and our preparedness, it is more important than ever that Connecticut stand up to protect our environment, make access to renewable energy more affordable, and prepare our infrastructure for the challenges ahead. For example, ensuring the company that drained Old Killingly Pond is held responsible for their actions is the kind of accountability we need right now. We are ‘The Last Green Valley’ for a reason. People value nature and a clean environment in our region, and that’s what I am so lucky to fight for at the State Capitol and right here at home.”
